Creating the Ultimate Cheese Bite: Why Just Enough Wines chose Cowgirl Creamery, Rustic Bakery, and The Olive Press - Just Enough Wines

About Just Enough Wines

As many of you have seen, we launched an Indiegogo campaign a little over a month ago. We are in our final days of the campaign and are thrilled to have reached our goal with contributions from many incredible backers. Today, we wanted to highlight some of the perks we have chosen to provide to backers who contribute $250 or above. Each of these perks were chosen because they are personal to our team and come from local Bay Area companies who share the same passion for delivering high quality products to their customers. Additionally, who doesn't want to pair a delicious canned wine with incredible cheese, artisan crackers and premium olive oil?

The Cowgirl Story

For over 30 years, Cowgirl Creamy has dedicated itself to bringing the Bay Area, the finest, organically sourced dairy products with a bit of old world charm. Since its start, Cowgirl Creamery has expanded to stores all over the nation.

Our first hand-selected picnic item is Cowgirl Creamery’s popular Mt Tam cheese. Apart from winning 14 awards in two countries, Mt Tam has been a go-to choice of cheese for its smooth, creamy, and elegant taste

Mt Tam, named after the Northern California landmark Mt. Tamalpais is an excellent choice to pair with Rustic Bakery crackers and Just Enough canned wine. Mt Tam has a buttery taste with a mellow, earthy flavor.

"Growing up in Marin county, Cowgirl Creamery Mt Tam cheese was always a staple in our household. The cheese is versatile enough to have as an afternoon snack, dinner party appetizer, and even for dinner!" - Kaitlyn Lo, Co-Founder of Just Enough Wines

Cowgirl Creamery was started by two amazing and talented women. The duo, Peggy and Sue, found their home just North of San Francisco after wrapping up their college education at the University of Tennessee. With years of experience and expert knowledge of the restaurant industry, their dairy business was born. Originally named Tomales Bay Foods, Peggy and Sue strived to get their fresh, delicious dairy products into the kitchens of the Bay Area’s finest chefs. Using milk from its local Straus Family Creamery, they began making delicious cheeses that reflected the exquisite quality of the milk they use. To this day, Cowgirl Creamery continues to collaborate with the Straus family to produce great dairy products using ethical and environmentally sound practices.

Cowgirl Creamery cheeses have been sold to over 500 stores, independent cheese shops, farmers markets and restaurants, and nationally through Whole Foods Markets.

The Inception of Rustic Baker

As far as we know,Rustic Bakery is the ONLY handmade sourdough flatbread anywhere.

Our next hand-selected picnic item pairs perfectly with the Cowgirl Creamery Mt Tam cheese, I mean can you name a better duo...we’ll wait. Rustic Bakery’s Olive Oil and Sel Gris Flatbread Bites are light and flaky with grey sea salt from France.

Power couple Carol LeValley and Josh Harris first found their love for baking while entertaining their friends in their home of Novato, CA. Just a year after its inception in 2005, every cheese shop in America wanted Rustic Barkery’s artisan crackers. In fact, Rustic Bakery actually got its first break from Cowgirl Creamery. Legend has it that the couple stopped at the San Francisco Ferry Building storefront of Cowgirl Creamery, and mentioned to owners Sue and Peggy that the cheeses deserved artisan crackers. After just one bite, Sue and Peggy immediately placed an order for 50 cases. If this doesn’t tell you that Rustic Bakery and Cowgirl Creamery are a perfect match, I’m not sure what will.

“I’ve always thought of the cracker as just the holder of the cheese... until I tasted Rustic Bakery’s crackers. They stand out on their own, but make the cheese that much more incredible” - Jess, Co-Founder of Just Enough Wines.

Rustic Bakery has grown over the years to include four cafés and a wholesale division with 28 products.

The History of The Olive Press

Completing the trio of our hand-selected products is the Arbequina Extra Virgin Olive Oilfrom The Olive Press. Arbequina olives are small in size yet prized in the Catalonia region of Spain. This olive oil is excellent due to the composition of fatty acids and the abundant presence of natural antioxidants. The Olive Press’s award-winning Arbequina oil is the perfect oil to keep close at hand whenever you are in the kitchen.
